How do I check if I’m eligible for a KiwiSaver first home withdrawal?

How do I check if I’m eligible for a KiwiSaver first home withdrawal?

To check whether you’re eligible to withdraw funds from your KiwiSaver account to help purchase your first home:

  1. Log in to your Simplicity KiwiSaver account.
  2. Select View details on your KiwiSaver account.
  3. Scroll down to Your fund and select View details.
  4. Select Documents & Forms on the right-hand side of the page.
  5. If you’re eligible, you’ll be able to download your First Home Withdrawal Letter.

Generally, you need to have been a KiwiSaver member for at least 3 years before you can make a first home withdrawal.

If your account shows that you’re not yet eligible, please check again once you’ve reached 3 years from your KiwiSaver start date.

You can also find our First Home Withdrawal forms under the Documents & Forms section of your account.

Please make sure you select the correct form for your withdrawal, as we have separate forms depending on when the funds are required:

  • Deposit – if you’re using your KiwiSaver withdrawal towards the deposit on your first home.
  • Settlement – if the funds are required for settlement of your property purchase.

If you believe the KiwiSaver start date we hold for you is incorrect, please email info@simplicity.kiwi and our team can look into this for you.
