How do I transfer savings from another New Zealand superannuation scheme to my existing Simplicity KiwiSaver account?

How do I transfer savings from another New Zealand superannuation scheme to my existing Simplicity KiwiSaver account?

If you have savings in another New Zealand superannuation or workplace savings scheme such as the Teachers’ Retirement Savings Scheme, you may be able to transfer them to your existing Simplicity KiwiSaver account.

How to make a transfer?

Request a compliance letter from us
Email info@simplicity.kiwi and ask for a KiwiSaver compliance letter.
This letter will include the details your current provider needs to arrange the transfer, including a reference for your existing Simplicity KiwiSaver account.

Contact your current provider
Ask your current superannuation or savings scheme provider for its transfer form. Complete and return the form directly to your provider, together with the Simplicity compliance letter and any other documents they require.

Wait for the transfer to be completed
Transfers generally take 10–15 working days, although the timeframe will depend on your current provider and whether they need any further information from you.

We’ll confirm when your money arrives
Once we receive and process the transferred funds, we’ll email you to confirm they have been added to your existing Simplicity KiwiSaver account.

Before starting, we recommend checking with your current provider that your scheme allows transfers to KiwiSaver and whether any fees, conditions, or restrictions apply.
