How do I update my PIR rate?

How do I update my PIR rate?

Your Prescribed Investor Rate, or PIR, is the rate of tax you pay on the income generated from your KiwiSaver investment - it can be 10%, 17.5% or 28%.

To view or update the PIR on your Simplicity account, please log in to the member app and select Profile from the main menu. You’ll be able to update your PIR there. Please allow 1 working day for the change to show online.

It’s your responsibility to update your PIR if it changes. The best way to check your correct PIR is to use IRD’s PIR calculator.
